Trains return to the tracks from Vlkov u Tišnova to Křižanov
The reconstruction of the Vlkov u Tišnova station and the subsequent eleven-kilometre-long section to Křižanov began at the turn of last year and this year. Due to the planned increase of the line speed from 100 to 160 km/h, the operation was completely interrupted at the beginning of April. This allowed the builders to increase the radii of the curves and lay the tracks in a new position. Passenger trains will be the first to return to the line, running at a reduced speed for the first few weeks. Buses will continue to provide replacement transport for the fast trains until mid-December.
The record pace of the restoration required a high level of commitment not only from the builders but also from the technicians. On one day, as many as 225 workers were on site, operating 120 trucks and other road equipment, plus two dozen special railway vehicles. Eight bridges and fourteen culverts were rebuilt, and two retaining walls were erected. The section is equipped with new catenary lines as well as telecommunication and signalling equipment.
The new Vlkov-Osová stop, which is located one kilometre closer to the development than the Vlkov station, has brought significant improvements for the locals. It opened on 8 October, offering passengers a platform at the floor level of modern trains and comfortable access via sloping walkways. Trains with passengers, on the other hand, stopped serving the station Vlkov u Tišnova, part of its reconstruction was the dismantling of all platforms. The station building was replaced by a new technological building.
The existing stops are also getting modern parameters. In Ořechov, builders have already completed sloping walkways to the platforms, in Osová Bítýška, barrier-free access to trains will be ensured by lifts that will open to the public on 20 December.
Contractors of the projects Reconstruction of the railway station Vlkov u Tišnova and Reconstruction of the line section Vlkov u Tišnova – Křižanov are the companies Chládek & Tintěra; Elektrizace železnice Praha; Eurovia CS; Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice; GJW Praha and ELTRA. Total investment costs exceed CZK 3.9 billion.
The implementation of both constructions is co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Programme Transport 2021-2027. National financing is provided by Státní fond dopravní infrastruktury (State Fund for Transport Infrastructure).
Another section is also being modernised
Intensive work is also underway between Přibyslav and Pohled. This year, the builders focused on the reconstruction of three road overpasses and the railway bridge behind the Přibyslav station. At the same time, the foundations of traction masts, buildings for technological equipment and new access roads are being built throughout the entire section. Resumption of double-track operation is planned for 6 December 2024. Construction activities will continue next year when single-track operation will be reintroduced again. Přibyslav station will undergo extensive modernisation, and in the following year construction work will move to the second line track and to Pohled station.Soubory ke stažení
