Record number of investments will enable further development of railway, construction of high-speed lines will begin
Správa železnic will have CZK 62.7 billion available for the renewal of railway lines and stations next year. This is almost a billion more than this year. A record 39.3 billion will be spent on investments, thanks to which, for example, the modernisation of the important Česká Třebová node will start. Next year, the construction of the first parts of the 200 km/h high-speed line from Brno to Přerov will also begin, and intensive preparation of high-speed lines will continue.

Shape of HSL terminal between Kořenice and Bečváry will be determined by architectural competition
Správa železnic has announced an architectural and urban planning competition for the new terminal Kořenice-Bečváry VRT (high-speed line – HSL). It will be built near today's railway station Pučery in the Kolín region and will become an important interchange between high-speed railway, conventional trains and public and individual transport.

New plates will improve identification of all level crossings
Správa železnic has started installing new reflective plates on level crossings to increase traffic safety. In the near future it will equip all level crossings on its network with them. The labels include the number of the specific level crossing and highlighted emergency contact number 112. In a crisis, it will primarily help drivers to identify the scene of the incident and deal with its consequences. The current installation was preceded by a pilot operation at more than two dozen crossings, after its evaluation, the design of the labels was modified.

New control centre for HSL traffic management to be built in Prague
Správa železnic has selected the designer of the new building of the central control room for high-speed lines (HSL) in Prague at Balabenka. The contract was awarded to the company SAGASTA. The construction is scheduled for completion in 2030.

Trains return to the tracks from Vlkov u Tišnova to Křižanov
Správa železnic modernised another part of the railway line from Brno to Havlíčkův Brod in record time, today it will start operation between Vlkov u Tišnova and Křižanov. Trains will return here tomorrow after a seven-month continuous closure, thereafter, finishing works will take place. For almost a month now, locals have been able to use the new Vlkov-Osová stop, which replaced the relatively distant Vlkov station.

GSM-R mobile signal ensures safer operation on East Bohemian backbone line
Today Správa železnic festively completed the construction of the
GSM-R radio system on the busy line from Pardubice via Hradec Králové to Jaroměř. This is a necessary condition for the introduction of the European Train Control System (ETCS), the installation of which has already begun between the two East Bohemian centres. Operation under its supervision will bring increased safety and smoothness of railway transport. The construction of GSM-R has been underway since April 2022 at a total cost of almost CZK 243 million.

Two tracks on restored Braník Bridge are in operation
Trains will start to use the Braník Bridge (Branický most) in Prague today in the early evening. Správa železnic starts double-track operation not only on it, but also in the subsequent section through Krč to the rebuilt Praha-Kačerov stop. In addition to freight trains, diverted passenger trains will also use the higher line capacity. The construction started last summer, most of the total cost of over CZK 2.6 billion will be covered by a contribution from European funds.

Successful purchase of electricity will save Správa železnic three quarters of billion for carriers. Significantly cheaper electricity and gas for organisations in transport sector
Správa železnic has successfully completed the purchase of traction power electricity for carriers for the next year. Its purchase price is CZK 2,431 per MWh, which will bring total savings of CZK 750 million compared to this year. Thanks to a proactive approach, the price of electricity and gas for own use and other customers was also reduced by tens of percent. In total, it will be 230 million cheaper than this year.

With respect for history: Station building renovation in Pilsen's Jižní Předměstí begins
The reconstruction of the second busiest railway station in the West Bohemian metropolis begins under the watchful eye of conservation-ists. It will return the historic building of the Plzeň-Jižní Předměstí station to its original splendour and will bring a significant increase in comfort for passengers. The reconstruction was festively launched today by Správa železnic and will be completed at the beginning of 2027.

New bridge near Brandýs will speed up trains and allow motorway to be widened
The D10 motorway near Brandýs nad Labem will be crossed by a new railway bridge this weekend. Its arched steel structure has a span of 68 metres and will enable the future extension of the busy road by a third lane in each direction. Trains from Čelákovice to Brandýs will start using the new bridge in November.
