Rail operability
Rail operability is understood as the provision of technical conditions for the railway infrastructure to guarantee safe and smooth operation. This term comes from the Act on Rail Systems (Act No. 266/1994 Coll., on Rail Systems). The provision of rail operability is a crucial task for each infrastructure manager. Správa železnic is currently the nation-wide railway infrastructure provider and provider of most regional lines in the Czech Republic.
The provising of operability includes, among other things, the following:
- Administration of railway infrastructure assets
- Maintenance and repairs of railway infrastructure
- Safe rail infrastructure arising from railway network operation
